At Metropolitan Detail in Redmond, we apply CQuartz Professional, a nano-ceramic coating that gives your car a deep wet look and real protection. It beads water hard, blocks the UV that fades your paint, and makes washing easy, and it holds up for 2-3 years. We take care of drivers all over Bellevue and Seattle.
This is the coating we put on the most cars, and for good reason. It is a nano-ceramic hybrid, a real step up from a basic coating in both shine and toughness. You get that deep wet look, water that beads and rolls right off, and strong UV protection that keeps your paint from fading. It shrugs off the things that actually stain a finish out here, water spots, bird droppings, bug splatter, and the fallout that settles on your car all week, and it holds up for 2-3 years. We put down 2 coats over lightly corrected paint, so it bonds properly and the shine lasts. For most people keeping their car a few years, this is the sweet spot between what you pay and what you get.

Every Professional coating includes a full wash, 3-stage decontamination, and a light paint correction before the coating goes on. A coating is only as good as the surface under it.
CQuartz seals your finish with a glossy, hydrophobic top coat. Every coating includes a full wash, decontamination, and prep, because a coating is only as good as the paint underneath it. If you want more swirl and scratch removal than the light correction we include, we will take a look and quote it. Heavy contaminants like overspray, moss, or hard sap take extra labor, also quoted after we see the car.
CQuartz Professional lays down a deep, rich gloss, the kind of wet look you usually only see right after a fresh detail. The difference here is that it does not wash away in a month. It pulls the best out of your paint, brings up the color and the metallic flake, and holds that finish for years instead of weeks.
The coating is extremely hydrophobic, which is a fancy way of saying water wants nothing to do with it. Rain, dust, and road grime bead up and roll right off instead of bonding to the paint. Your washes get faster, your car stays cleaner between them, and a lot of the stuff that used to stick just does not anymore, which matters through a wet Redmond winter.
This is where a coating earns its keep. It blocks the UV that fades and dulls your paint over time, and it resists the things that actually stain a finish out here: oil and water spots, brake dust, bird droppings, tar, and the fallout that settles on your car all week. Your paint keeps its color and depth for the 2-3 years the coating lasts.
A wax sits on top of your paint and washes off. This nano-ceramic formula bonds to it and hardens into a dense, durable layer that stands up to abrasion, weather, and daily driving through the seasons. It becomes part of the surface, which is why it lasts and why it protects the way it does.
Durability ratings are based on real world use. Garaged cars cared for as directed go well past the stated numbers.
A coating only looks as good as the paint under it. Here is what your car goes through before a drop of CQuartz touches it.
What we start with on most cars: swirl marks, tar, brake dust, dirt, and other contaminants sitting in and on the clear coat.
Iron, tar, and a clay pad pull the bonded contamination out of the paint. Clean, but still not smooth.
Machine polishing levels the clear coat and removes swirls and scratches instead of filling them in.
A finishing polish refines the paint to a mirror, so there is nothing left to hide under the coating.
2 coats bond to corrected paint. Enhanced gloss, strong dirt and water repellency, and years of protection.
John, Lee and the entire team are top notch. John joined us to inspect the Tesla on the scheduled date and it happened to be the wettest day of the decade with delivery outside. John was soaking wet and yet took his time to inspect the car in painstaking detail, including the underbody. These guys are craftsmen and designers.
Great customer service and communication. Dropped off my car in the morning in exchange for their loaner car. I picked up my well-groomed car at end of the day. Every surface was seemingly cleaned. I am satisfied with the Wash, Decon and Protect package, and will return in the spring for an upgraded exterior package.
I can't say enough good things about my experience here. All my research pointed me here. Lee and his partner were super responsive over email, not only providing me a quote, but answering all of my questions. In person they were very low key, highly knowledgable, and just fun to talk to.
A coating locks in whatever is under it. The light correction included here cleans things up, but if your paint has real swirls you want removed, a full correction first is the way to a finish that is actually corrected, not sealed over. Charged by the hour on top of the coating. Bring it by and we will show you what it needs.

Professional sits in the middle of the CQuartz line. If you are keeping the car a year or leasing it, SiC covers you for less. If you plan to keep it and want the deepest, hardest finish we can put on paint, Finest Reserve is the one.
While your car is here, these are easy to add on.

A hydrophobic glass coating for your windshield and glass. It repels water, cuts glare, and makes bugs and sap wipe off easily, for a clearer view in the rain.

Over time headlights oxidize and yellow, which cuts the light they put out. We wet sand and polish them clear, then add PPF to protect them going forward.

A high-temp ceramic on the wheels and calipers so brake dust and grime wipe right off and they stop fading.
Faded plastic trim is one of the first things that ages a car. DLUX is a high-silica ceramic, over 50% pure silica, that restores black trim and protects it from UV fading.
Add-on pricing is subject to a vehicle inspection.
Quality work takes time, and you should not have to wait around for it. We keep a small free fleet, based on availability, so your day keeps moving.

2-3 years with proper washing.
SiC is the entry coating at about a year. Professional is a nano-ceramic hybrid at 2-3 years with a deeper shine. Finest Reserve is the flagship at 3-5, infrared cured.
No. A coating is for gloss and easy cleaning. For chip protection you want paint protection film, and plenty of people do both.
A light correction is, so the coating goes on clean paint. If you want swirls fully removed, we can do a fuller correction, quoted after we see the car.
Hand wash with a coating-safe soap, and skip wash-and-wax products, they gum it up.
