CQuartz DLUX: Built to Resist Heat and Grime

Your wheels and calipers shape how your car looks, and they take the worst of it. Brake dust, road grime, and the heat coming off your brakes bake all of that onto the finish until they look dull and get hard to clean. Regular wheel sealants wash off after a few washes. DLUX is different. It is formulated to resist high temperatures, it contains 50% silica, and it uses a hydrophobic nano composition that chemically bonds to your wheels and calipers instead of just sitting on top. That bond restores their finish and makes brake dust and grime wipe right off, and it holds up. DLUX also has UV inhibitors built in to help keep your wheels from fading early.

The Process

How We Apply CQuartz DLUX

01

Wheels Removed

The car goes up on a lift and the wheels come off, so we can reach every surface, not just the faces you can see.

02

Cleaned and Decontaminated

The barrels, spokes, faces, and calipers are cleaned thoroughly, giving the coating a fresh, decontaminated surface to bond to.

03

Two Coats of DLUX

Two coats go on the barrels, spokes, faces, and calipers.

04

Re-installed and Torqued

Once cured, the wheels go back on and are torqued to your vehicle's proper specs.

OCDetailing in the Bay Area recommended Metropolitan Detail when I moved to Seattle three years ago, and I’ve been bringing my Macan here ever since.

Metropolitan Detail completed a full suite of services on my Macan: CQuartz Finest Reserve, Second Stage Polish, Glassparency, DLUX for wheels and calipers, interior detailing, and PDR for a small dent on rear passenger door.

Lee and Charles are outstanding, professional, transparent, and skilled at their craft. When Lee inspected my car to determine how much polishing it needed, he noticed a 1-inch dent on the rear passenger door and suggested a PDR solution on the spot, saving me the hassle of making a separate trip to another shop. When I picked up my car and casually chatted with Charles about PPF on a 911, he personally gave me a tour of their new workspace next door and showed me their work on a collection of cars (e.g., Porsche, Maserati, Ferrari).

Not once have I felt pressured into unnecessary add-ons or upsells. These men genuinely care about their work and quality. I'm extremely happy with the CQuartz, and I fancy bringing my next upgrade here for PPF. Highly recommend!

Metro is a top notch detailing facility. All of your detailing needs can be met here. I had them do full coverage PPF on my new Ferrari, as well as tint, and ceramic coating on my wheels and calipers. The wrap job turned out phenomenal, I really am impressed at the quality. They were able to hide the seams incredibly well, and you can't tell there is PPF on the car. The process does take some time, but it's worth the result. I will be back with my other cars, and for washes and other detailing needs.

FAQ

Questions about wheel coating.

Why coat my wheels?

Brake dust and road grime bake onto hot wheels and get hard to clean. A coating makes them wipe right off and keeps them from fading.

How is this different from a wheel sealant?

Regular sealants wash off after a few washes. DLUX is a high-silica ceramic that chemically bonds to the wheel and lasts.

Do you really take the wheels off?

Yes. It is the only way to coat the barrels and the backs, not just the faces. We torque them back to your vehicle's specs.

Does it go on the calipers too?

Yes, the calipers are coated along with the barrels, spokes, and faces.

Will it handle brake heat?

Yes. DLUX is formulated specifically to resist the high temperatures that come off your brakes.
